2024 Leadership Development Conference

The 2024 Leadership Development Conference (LDC) will be held at the Motor City Casino Hotel, 2901 Grand River Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, 48201 March 21-24, 2024. All Delegates attending the 2024 Leadership Development Conference must Pre-Register:

Pre-Registration: $75.00 (includes Souvenir Book)
Deadline for Pre-Registration: February 9, 2024
(must be in home office –no Post Mark will be accepted)

February 10- 23, 2024 – Late Registration: $100.00
No Registrations will be accepted after February 23, 2024!!!

This workshop will be presented by Illustrious Bobbie J. Meeks, 33° and Sister Monique C. Walton for those who are aspiring to serve in a leadership role within the organization. Participants will receive tips and strategies on how to lead, what to do, preliminary work that should be done prior to accepting a leadership role/position and what to do when in a key leadership role/position.

Convention Planning 101 (Series I: 11:15am - 12:45pm)

This workshop will be presented by Dr. LaMont “Montee” Evans and Sister Bajeyah Eaddy and will provide those in attendance a layout and timeframe on the things to do that will ensure a successful convention is held, be it Local, Grand, National District or at the Supreme Level. It will cover working from a year in advance up to and including once the Convention has ended and post-work that needs to be completed by leaders. Participants will be given a PowerPoint presentation once the training starts.

Conflict Resolution (Series I: 11:15am - 12:45pm)

This workshop will be presented by Illustrious DeWitt McGowan, 33° and Sister Charlotte Nichols with the intentions to help leaders with strategies on how to reduce, eliminate and resolve conflicts that may arise. It will provide those in attendance case scenarios and discuss a variety of ways on how to resolve situational conflicts. Leveraging Your Nonprofit Status through Charity & Community Outreach (Series II: 2:15pm - 3:45pm)

This workshop will be presented by Dr. LaMont “Montee” Evans and Sister Bajeyah Eaddy to describe and discuss how charity, membership engagement, and community outreach can be effectively done on a Local, Grand, National District, and Supreme Level. Participants will also be provided tips and strategies on how to utilize a nonprofit/501(c)3 tax exempt organization to reduce tax liability and mobilize funding/resources for conventions, charity and community events.

Understanding an Endowment Sheet (Series II: 2:15pm - 3:45pm)

This workshop will be presented by Illustrious LaMont D. Brown, 33° and Sister Patricia J. Hollowell and will provide those in attendance a thorough overview of the Endowment Sheet; teach how to read an Endowment Report; and how to get corrections made with the proper communication given to Home Office and/or the Supreme President/CEO. Ollie, Jr. , 33° and Sister Cora Mercer to provide those in attendance an overview of how to put together Finance Reports, Recapitulation Report and prepare for Conventions and Meetings needing to hear a report on finances. Participants will receive tips and strategies on things to learn as a second-in-command; what to ask as a Deputy, Vice, Assistant; and understand the importance of being a support to the leader and how to work together for the good of the department/entity.
