International Masons and Eastern Stars have members who come from all walks of life, with each of them having their own unique journey and/or story to tell. Since 1950, our Order has welcomed men, women and young people who want to be better. Regardless of religious beliefs, our foundation of Christian principles ensures everyone is treated fair. Whether you desire to be a Freemason or member of the Order of the Eastern Star, we encourage you to consider International Free and Accepted Modern Masons, Inc. and Order of the Eastern Star as your Fraternal Order.
It’s also important to note within our Fraternal Order; we take good men and women and through regular meetings, fellowship and education; work to make them better men and women. We have Lodges (men) and Chapters (women) that meet regularly for handling of business and ritualistic education. There are opportunities to meet other International Masons and Eastern Stars at state, regional and national Conventions/Meetings.
We have a Youth Department that focuses on providing basic life skills and discipline for young people who become members of our Youth Courts. Traditionally, the children of International Masons and Eastern Stars are introduced to a Youth Court so parents can meet while their children are being watched and mentored by Masons/Eastern Stars who have cleared a background check and are in good standing within our Order.
An International Mason is a man 21 years of age or older who has submitted his application to a Lodge and has had an opportunity to be interviewed by the Lodge to discuss his interest in joining. They will coordinate a meeting where he will be asked questions and afforded an opporunity to ask questions. An investigation will be conducted of his character and a discussion held with him regarding the commitments expected (î.e., attend meetings regularly, pay dues and fees, support local events/activites/programs and be willing to travel as time and resources permit). Each situation within one’s background is different and any irregularities are to be discussed/explained during the interview.
For women 21 years of age or older who are interested in joining the Order of the Eastern Star; a member of the Order of the Eastern Star will provide an application for you to submit. An Eastern Star Chapter will then conduct an interview with the applicant to discuss her interest in joining. They will coordinate a meeting where she will be asked questions and afforded an opporunity to ask questions. An investigation will be conducted of her character and a discussion with her regarding the commitments expected (î.e., attend meetings regularly, pay dues and fees, support local events/activites/programs and be willing to travel as time and resources permit). Each situation within one’s background is different and any irregularities can be discussed/explained during the interview.
